Now a mother of a two-year-old boy; I started sewing seriously when I was 17 years old and grounded during the summer. My mother’s massive fabric collection became my escape from boredom during the summer trapped inside. The only times I has been able to stay up all night were to finish projects that involved a sewing machine and 150 watt bulb.
In college my favorite courses were costuming and welding – I know: what a gal! In April of 2008 I started my own business as MsCraftypants. Although welding is off the table (for now), I am excited to be back with the most malleable of all mediums: fabric. You can twist it, sew it, pull it, stretch it, paint it, you name it. In fact unless you cut it into itty bitty pieces, fabric is useful and reusable in a myriad of ways.
Currently MsCraftypants is designing baby gear with the modern family in mind. My line includes diaper bags, changing pads called Diaper Clutches and bedding.
I also make custom order adult size quilts and have a line of handbags for ladies with an on-the-go lifestyle like me.
This blog is a way to organize my thoughts and share my ideas with other crafty people. Please feel free to comment and make suggestions on anything you find here. I look forward to learning from others while sharing my own experiences on this forum.
