New Quilt

I’m close to finishing up a new quilt and thought I’d take this opportunity to poll any readers out there for some suggestions.  I like to write lyrics on my quilts, or poems or whatever I feel strikes the mood of the design and I’m not sure what to put on my newest one.  Here is a picture of what it will look like, mostly, so let me know what you think…

Some ideas I have are writing the lyrics from REM’s End of the World, or Dr. Seuss’ Oh the Places You’ll Go.  I’m sure I can list more, but tell me if you have any ideas that you think would fit this brightly patterned quilt. 

Also as a little tip, I find it helpful to mark the backs of my quilting strips as the pattern gets more complicated.  This keeps me from spending extra time “making sure” I have everything the right direction when it goes under the sewing foot, I just line up the arrows and numbers and I’m ready to start my engine.  I included a couple of photos to show you what I mean. 

I’m looking forward to finishing this quilt.  I just went to the store to get more of the solid yellow because I ran out.  I’m making the back to resemble an enlarged version of the blocks on the front – wait ’til you see it!  Now give me your feedback on the lyrics.
